It is quite possible to add one more monitor to your Windows XP box, if you have a graphics card with DVI - VGA out or you can connect your TV as monitor if your graphics card has s-video out. My graphics card, nVidia 6800 has all the three, vga, dvi and s-video, So I connect my 19″ Viewsonic 1930 LCD monitor through DVI interface, my DLP projector or analog 17″ CRT monitor through VGA at the same time.

Or use LCD monitor and my 29″ LG flatron TV through S-video at the same time. But you cannot use all the three at the same time. Either VGA and DVI or DVI and S-video or VGA and S-video. Choose the connection types as per the device which you want to connect to your computer.

Once you had connected the devices to the respective ports, switch on the computer. When booted, in display settings, choose Dual View for extended desktop area, or clone to get the same screen on both devices. Dual View is better, as you can run different applications in different monitors.
